Chrestor DivinusChrestor is the 'useful one' , the 'good servant'. It is the conscious human activity in support of the work of Auramazda.We can call an individual a 'chrestor' if they express the character of the ideal or divine Chrestor who we call Chrestor Divinus or just Chrestus. Chrestor Divinus can also be called Chrestus Magnus (the Great Christ) which emphasizes that His power comes out of the work of many individuals. Chrestor Divinus can also be called Chrestus Magtus (the Mighty Christ) which emphasizes the need for the Great Christ to not only be Good in his intentions, but also Mighty in his capabilities. For an agent with good intentions but no capability to make them real is of no use. N.B. In common with many early Christians, Zartians derive the word Christ from the Greek Khrehstos (Chrestus) which means a 'useful person' or 'good servant', rather than the similar-sounding Greek word which means 'annointed one' or 'Messiah'. The Zartian Christ is not an individual person but a divine supernatural being who acts through those people who have the necessary character. The word Chrestor also translates the Avestan Persian word Saoshyant which had a similar meaning (and often is translated 'Saviour' in English.) Originally all Zoroastrians were meant to become Saoshyants, but later the term was reserved for a special saviour coming at the end of the age. SuperchrestorA Chrestor is a 'saviour' . It is the goal of Zartians to become 'chrestors' i.e. people who are able to do good and be of service to the world, and to save it from the consequences of its bad actions.The Superchrestor is the single 'world saviour' which arises out of the actions of individual chrestors. Zartians don't believe in putting out hopes in any single living person to come and save us, without us needing to do anything to help them. Rather it is by large numbers of people taking on the responsibility to take on a part of the task of saving the world, that the Superchrestor arises and the world can be saved. Now we do benefit from leadership, and religious Zartians look to 'Cyrusson' or the 'Son of Cyrus' to come and take the role of King of the World. However a King cannot rule alone without help, but rather depends on a large number of other people to play their part and assist in the good government. Chrestus MagtusChrestus Magtus ("The Mighty Servant") is the ideal human agent of the agenda of God, which is to see living beings flourish.Chrestus Magtus works through human beings but only if they have a character which conforms with His own. The major agenda of Zartianism is to be a force to encourage the development of a Christ-like character in people along with the necessary strengths and capabilities so that they can be an effective and good influence in the world. Chrestus MagtusChrestus Magtus is the 'Mighty Christ' or 'Mighty Servant'. The name implies that his character is a combination of those of the two prosopa Aristus and Chrestus. Aristus ('the Best') is also 'Mighty', while Chrestus is the 'Servant of All' - seeing all people as manifestations of God as Zurvan and thus worthy of assistance.Chrestus Magtus (The Mighty Christ)Chrestus Magtus ("The Mighty Servant") represents 'Human might in the service of the Good'.Chrestus Magtus is a partial aspect of Auramazda, the Wise Lord. Chrestus Magtus is the 'Useful One and the Strong'. Chrestus is the conscious human agent in striving for the Good. Chrestus has a love of life, a desire to see the individual and common flourishing. Chrestus is the good servant of the world-soul, seeking its increasing flourishing. Chrestus Magtus is the best kind of human being - the fully adult human being, mature in mind, soul and soul. Adult in mind, Chrestus Magtus has Eunoia or Good Thinking - able to see things clearly, the web of cause and effect relationships and awareness of the good - the ultimate good and the instrumental good. Adult in soul, Chrestus Magtus has spiritual strength and emotional maturity. Chrestus is caring and courageous and his emotional engagement matches the true needs of the situation. Adult in hand and body, Chrestus Magtus is strong, healthy and capable. Chrestus has all that is needed to take effective action and change the state of the world. We believe that Chrestus Magtus can save mankind from the terrible predicament it is getting itself into. He can work as the divine saviour of mankind - to bring people out of a bad life of poverty, danger or slavery into a better life of freedom and fulfilment. He is the potential divine saviour of the world and its inhabitants if we work to pave a way for his arrival into his full glory. The Mighty ChristThe Mighty Christ is the Mighty Servant of humanity. The Mighty Christ is human ability to produce the common flourishing at it best. The Mighty Christ has Mightiness - the wisdom, strength and capability to make an impact - combined with a Selfless love of Life that motivates him to produce well-being and flourishing.We call him Mighty because only with Might or Capability to do things is the Mighty Christ able to be useful to mankind. Zartianism and the Mighty ChristZartians consider the Mighty Christ as the highest ideal of human activity. However we don't consider that it is always necessary to be selfless and 'christlike' in order to be useful to society, and so we value other kinds of personalities. We also recognise that as part of the human development of 'mightiness' it is necessary to 'play in a selfish way'. Nevertheless if a Christ-spirit doesn't permeate the governing powers of a society then it is likely to degenerate from producing the common good.Archdemons
