ZorochristiansZorochristians are people who consider themselves Christians, but who believe the roots of the Christian tradition are in the teachings of Zoroaster, rather than in the Hebrew Bible.From a practical point of view Zorochristian beliefs are much the same as mainstream Zartian Agathists. However people calling themselves Zorochristians have a particular interest in the figure of Jesus and with the scripture of his time, both those of the accepted 'New Testament' and other writings which didn't make it and may be called gnostic today. They are also likely to be interested in the later, developed, Christian tradition, and their religious practices may draw from this. Zorochristians don't regard the Hebrew Bible as a Christian text, and don't consider the god of the Hebrews as the same as the universal Christian god. However they nevertheless recognize that the text does capture some of the wisdom accumulated by ancient societies of the Middle East, and may have something to teach us. Among Zorochristians, Zoroaster has a status as the father of their tradition, perhaps somewhere between that of Abraham and John the Baptist in Abramic Christianity.
