Magoi Ekkritoi

The Magoi Ekkritoi or "Chosen wizards" are wise religious and spiritual teachers who have been chosen above others for special veneration. This is because of their special usefulness to us in helping us develop our own moral character.

Tetramagi

The most important of the Hemidiva for Zartomazdeans are the Tetramagi. These are four especially revered spiritual and religious teachers. The Tetramagi are: Zartus (Zoroaster), Gotama (Buddha), Socrates and Jesus.

1.Zartus Magus

Zartus Magus (Zarathustra the Wise One) is the Philosopher Saint - the one who who has knowledge of the cosmos and can discern the best ethical world-view and give to us the best religion. Zartus is the foremost teacher of Daena (moral vision).

4.Jesus Nazarenus

Jesus Nazarenus is the Compassionate Saint - the one who sees our real human nature and needs and gives this the highest value regardless of human-manufactured regulations and understandings which contradict it.

Zorochristians see Jesus' voluntary suffering on the cross as a sign of his compassion. We don't believe that the historic person of Jesus can be considered a scapegoat for all the sins of the world. Rather his action was a demonstration of how the eternal Sarus takes on the burden of counteracting the sins of the fallible.

Other Magoi

Potentially other spiritual or religious teachers could be treated as Magoi Ekkritoi. For instance Plotinus as a teacher of spiritual Platonism, and the more modern Inayat Khan - a teacher of Sufism to the West.
